Teaching is a profession that enables and empowers people to share knowledge and be instrumental in the development of children, teenagers and young adults.
Fundamentally, it is about the progression of young people so that they thrive and are successful on their chosen path in life. Teachers choose to teach in phases that cover a child’s educational life span from Nursery to University as well as choosing whether they want to teach all subjects in KS1 and 2 or focusing on a specific curriculum area in KS4 and 5.
Teaching is an altruistic choice. It is a socially worthwhile career, and many teachers would agree that the greatest pleasure is seeing how their students grow.
